Week 4 Division Players of the Week

 Week 4 

10/2 to 10/8

A North

Forward - Sydney Spilsbury Junior Manalapan - Sydney had a great week scoring 4 goals, giving her 6 on the year. She scored 2 against Middletown North and then ended the week with both of Manalapans goals against RFH.

Defender - Erin Prince Senior Middletown South - Erin has been a key piece all season for the Eagles on their back line. She played great against Howell to help give Middletown South a shutout and then was able to score a goal against Freehold Boro later in the week, which also earned Middletown South a shutout.

Goalie - Jaleigh Tuccille Senior Freehold Boro - Jaleigh had a rough week, getting injured against Middletown South, but she was amazing against Marlboro in the pouring rain. She made 10 saves in a losing effort, but if not for her the score could have been a lot worse than 2-0.

A Central

Forward - Ashley Inacio Junior RBC - Ashley, who plays more of a midfield role, helped RBC clinch A Central with 2 goals against Wall. She does a good job setting up her teammates with her passing and puts the forwards in good positions to finish. 

Defender - Riley Bazydio Senior Shore Regional - Riley helped give Shore Regional their best week of the season, which included giving #6 Point Boro their first loss of the season 1-0.  Earlier in the week she helped the defense hold Holmdel to one goal in a 4-1 win. 

Goalie - Sofia Merten Sophomore Shore Regional - Sofia helped lead Shore Regional to back to back wins for the first time all season. First she had 6 saves against Holmdel in a 4-1 win. Then she picked up her first shutout of the season coming up with 9 saves against previously ranked #6 Point Boro, handing them their first loss of the year. 

A South

Forward - Alexis Garcia Junior Toms River North - Alexis had another productive week in A South. She had 2 assists against rival Jackson Memorial and then had a goal and 2 assists against Midd North. She raises her total to 12 goals on the year.

Defender - Grace Crowley Sophomore Toms River East - Grace has helped anchor a tough TRE defense all season. They do not give up a lot of goals, only one game over 2. Last week she helped with a shutout against Brick Twp and then kept Liberty to only one goal. 

Goalie - Delaine Wilkinson Senior Toms River South - Delaine's perfomance against Brick Memorial will be one to remember for years to come. She made 12 saves on way to her 4th shutout of the season. Her performance put TRS in the top spot of A South.

B North

Forward - Shannon Reiser Senior Matawan - Shannon has been lighting up the scoreboard this season.  This week she had an impressive 6 goals, 3 against Neptune and then 3 against a tough Manasquan defense. She also added an assist on the week. With this week's performance she has 16 goals on the year.

Defender - Alex Foley Sophomore Ocean Twp - Alex had a great week for Ocean Twp, she was a big reason for their upset win against #7 SJV last week 1-0. She helped anchor the back line for the shutout and then she had another great performance against division rival Colts Neck that ended in a 1-1 draw.

Goalie - Gia Restivo Sophomore Manasquan - Gia has had a great season helping Manasquan make the SCT this season. This week she posted a shutout against Red Bank Regional, which is no easy task. That is her third shutout of the season. She then made four saves against Matawan, whose offense has been on fire this last week, to help Manasquan win 5-3.

B Central

Forward - Isabella Bednarz Senior Keyport - Bella was able to put up 2 goals and 1 assist on senior night against Hillside. If you put Bella on a stronger team, she would be getting more accolades with her talent.  Look for her to finish the season strong for Keyport. 

Defender - Haley Poser Sophomore Ranney - The multi sport star has helped Ranney and has offered some flexibilty playing center back and center mid this season. She helped control the back line in Ranney's 2-0 win against Long Branch.

Goalie - Katie Renaud Sophomore Ranney - Katie earned her second shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory over Long Branch last week.  In Ranney's three wins, Katie only gave up one goal.

B South 

Forward - Cheyenne Payne Senior Donovan Catholic - Cheyenne had a great week for Donovan, she scored the game winner in a 1-0 victory over Barnegat early in the week and followed that with a goal and assist against Point Beach. She has 7 goals and 4 assists on the season.

Defender - Rachel Oliver Senior Manchester - Rachel had a stellar game against St. Rose, not only on defense, but offense as well. She hit a shot from about 25 yards out that landed in the top corner. She then assisted the game winning goal in overtime. On defense her and her teammates drove St. Rose crazy with the offsides trap that slowed down their offense. 

Goalie - Kaia Buckley Sophomore Manchester - Kaia had a busy week in net, in two games she came up with 13 saves. Both games end in a 2-1 final score, but Manchester split for the week. She did an amazing job against St. Rose with some of the saves she made to give Manchester the win. She also played against Point Boro, but the stats are not posted.
