Week 5 Division Players of the Week

A North

Forward - Hailey Santiago Junior Freehold Twp- Hailey keeps her great season going. Last year she had 13 goals and did not get any recognition. She was able to put in 3 goals against RFH in the 2nd round and then one to help Freehold Twp get into the semis again. She is tied for first with Shannon Reiser with 16 goals on the season.

Defender - Allie Gold Senior Howell - Allie has been leading the Howell back line all season and really stepped up in the SCT. She helped the team post two shutouts this week, including a 1-0 against the highly explosive Manalapan.

Goalie - Madison Smith Junior Howell - The two time goalie of the week had another stellar week. She posted two shutouts in the SCT to help Howell advance into the semis. She had six saves against the high-power offense of Manalapan.

A Central

Forward -  Gianna Romeo Senior RBC - Gianna keeps putting the ball in the right spot and rewarding her teammates all over the field. This week she had 5 assists, including assisting both goals against Marlboro in the 2nd round of the SCT. Monday she had two goals and two assists against Metuchen. She is up to 13 assists after last week. 

Defender -  Kate Hennen Junior Rumson - This is the second time this season Kate has been recognized as defender of the week for A Central. This week she helped on the offensive end to, scoring two goals in the opening round of the SCT.  She also helped earn RFH a shutout against Wall later in the week.

Goalie - Emily Venezia Freshman Trinity Hall - Emily has filled in great for senior Olivia Fazzolari this season and makes it hard for opposing teams to score. This week she helped Trinity Hall advance into round two of the SCT by posting 9 saves in a shutout win against Wall.  She followed that with 7 saves against SJV in a losing effort in double overtime. 

A South

Forward Renee Wanzor Junior Jackson Memorial - Renee has had a solid season for the Jags. Last week she had a goal and an assist in two games. First against SJV in a 4-0 win and then against Southern in a 2-1 win in the first round of the Coaches Tournament.

Defender - Carly Helmstetter Sophomore Toms River South - Carly and TRS proved this week that beating Brick Memorial was no fluke. They were able to beat them again 1-0 in the second round of the SCT. Carly has been a big factor on the back line all season.

Goalie - Trinitie Maloney Junior Brick Twp - Trinitie is always tough to score on in goal and she sees a lot of action there.  Last week she had 8 saves against Middletown North in a 1-0 loss in the Coaches Tournament quarterfinal round. She then had 6 saves against Donovan to help Brick earn their second win of the season. 

B North

Forward - Renee Herbert Junior Manasquan -  Renee was a big factor in helping Manasquan win their biggest win of the season and maybe in the past two decades.  She had the equalizer in the final ten minutes against #4 Middletown South and then her team was able to finish the upset in overtime off her corner kick. She has been the best in the Shore all season on corners and a key piece to the Warriors success.

Defender - Hailey Brennan  Junior SJV - Hailey has been a key part of the SJV all season. They have been tough to score goals on this season. This week she also was able to help out on the offensive end, scoring the game winner of a corner kick in double OT. One of the biggest goals of the year for SJV.

Goalie - Katie Webb Senior SJV - Katie, who won Eat Clean Bro Goalie of the Week in week 1 continues to step up in big games. She posted two shutouts this week, when the games mean the most. She had a huge save in double overtime against Trinity moments before SJV scored the game winner. 

B Central 

Forward - Adriana Dalia Senior St. Rose - Adriana scored the game winner in the opening round of the SCT against Holmdel. This gave St. Rose they're first SCT win in 4 seasons and biggest win. She has been appling a lot of pressure on opposing defenders and goalies the last couple of weeks. 

Defender - Kylie Ion Junior St. Rose - In the biggest game in three years, everyone stepped up for St. Rose and no one might have had a bigger impact than Kylie. She covered Holmdel's best forward, Taylor Bielan, and kept her scoreless and frustrated her all game.  She also was winning the ball and making tackles all over the field.

Goalie - Morgan Highland Senior Point Beach - Morgan had another good week in goal, unfortunately in a losing effort though. She posted 16 saves against rival Point Boro in the opening round of the SCT. Her performance kept Point Beach in the game. She then followed that with 8 saves against Shore Regional in a 1-0 defeat.

B South 

Forward - Kyleigh Cilento Junior Point Boro - Kyleigh scored the game winner against TRN early in the week to give Point Boro their biggest win of the season, until Saturday. Saturday she scored on a PK and had an assist to upset #2 seed RBC.

Defender - Gabby Mellet Sophomore Point Boro - The two time B South Defender of the week had another great week on both sides of the field. She was able to score twice in the upset win against RBC. She also was a key part of the Panther defense in shutting down TRn.

Goalie - Ava Bjorndahl Sophomore Point Boro - Ava's remarkable season continues in the SCT. She was able to post a shutout against TRN, which is no easy task. Then she had 11 saves in the upset win against RBC to help Point Boro advance into the semis.
